Introducing Miss Riley Jiner Handy

At 1:49 pm we saw for the first time in person, Jiang Jin Er.  We named her Riley Jiner Handy.  When her nanny brought her into the room, my heart raced!!  What a beautie!!  What a beautie!! This is what we know...Miss Riley was scared to see us.  :( She was very attached to her Nanny! She did cry, but so did her momma, and her sister even had watery eyes.  Her Nanny shed some tears too.  I was trying to hold strong but was taken over with emotions.  Riley can walk with assistance however her legs muscles do not appear to be very strong.  Her legs are very long but very, very skinny!!  Most of the clothes I brought for her will work, however they are almost too short but way too big at the waist!!  She can get around on the floor to get things but she would prefer you get it for her!  I won't say it is a true crawl but she can get there! Overall she appears to be doing well.  We do have one health concern for her and are asking for many prayers!  She currently has some sort of infection.  Not sure of the name or what it is!  They told us it could not translate to English.  :( Riley has large bumps on her hear and in some areas large scabs.  Her largest bump is raised a good 1/2 inch!  We are suppose to treat with antibiotic ointment twice a day.  The orphanage director did say that we need to watch these spots closely.  If they get larger or she starts running a fever we will have to be admitted into the hospital here in China.  Anyone know what these bumps/scab like things could be???

We are enjoying every minute with her!!  She is transitioning great.  She has had 2 bottles, had TONS of snacks, ate a great dinner and now bring held and rocked to sleep by Ba Ba (Daddy)!  We have some more paperwork to start her passport process tomorrow at 9 and then the rest of the day is bonding time for us.  We are looking forward to a great night sleep and wonderful day tomorrow.

  5. Yeah! So HAPPY to see pictures of you and Riley. She is so cute. Kelsey's legs were not very strong when we got her. I will look for info on the spots she has. I had a sheet at one time with examples of rashes and such.
